Education is the key and pathway to success in life and teachers help to build the foundation blocks in an individual’s career. Since the year 2012, we at Durgapur Anandamoy B. Ed College have involved ourselves in a mission to produce teachers of sheer merit and excellence so that they can reform the modern education system of our society.

But as stated by Aristotle, “The roots of education are bitter, but the fruit is sweet”. We at Durgapur Anandamoy B. Ed College truly emphasize on this fact. Education and discipline can be considered as two sides of a coin. Thus for a complete mould, activities like Organizing Morning Assembly with Punctual Timings and compulsory attendance, forms the first step of the day. In addition to that other activities like news paper reading, oral speech on importance of the day are added in the assembly which helps not only in the personality development of the young trainees but also helps in reduction of hindrances like stage fear and mind locks that are very common in most individuals.

We also believe that regular evaluation is necessary for proper knowledge earning. For this weekly assignments and class tests are an integral part of our teaching programme that helps trainees to assess their knowledge database. To balance out the daily stress and monotony of our education procedure extra-curricular activities like sports, cultural programs, dramas, debates, seminar etc are held in our college. In addition to that awareness campaigns are also held at our college for mass communication of significant messages and protocols that are directly influencing the common people of our society. We truly believe that a teacher must be ambidextrous in all sectors of the modern education system and they too shall be capable to pass on the torch of learning to our future generations.

I, being the Secretary of this college alongwith my entire team of teaching faculty & other staff have truly envisaged a complete procedure for proper learning and betterment of the trainees so that they can excel in their future career in education.

Ed College offers Teacher Education courses that aim at training the body, mind and spirit. Teachers are considered to be nation builders. The role of teachers in the new millennium has become versatile and an intimidating task. It has become a necessity to cultivate social, moral and spiritual values in children these days in order to make them better human beings.

Our college is affiliated to WBUTTEPA and recognized by NCTE. We craft a safe and sound social as well as physical environment that allows all our trainees to learn and thrive in life. Our college has the freedom towards a healthy and pleasant ambience. The credit for this beautiful ambience goes to all our influential members of the governing body and the learned staff.

We at Durgapur Anandamoy B. Ed College aim at equipping the future teachers with education and knowledge that results in academic proficiency, skills that direct towards acquiring a techno savvy knack, attitudes that lead you towards a lifetime knowledge and quest of excellence and proficient values that will persistently remind you of your pledge and responsibility towards the global society. The learning atmosphere in our college assists each student to build up by a range of scholastic, co-curricular & curricular inputs in the form of core practice teaching, simulation teaching, national seminars, tutorials, workshops, school internship, ICT training etc.

I, being the principal of this college believe that along with professional knowledge and skill, professional attitude is something that needs to be shaped, and this college does exactly the same. We make sincere efforts to inculcate proper attitude among its students, in their crucial decisive years during which their personality takes a distinct shape. Together, we aim to develop proficient, dedicated and competent teachers in our college by imparting quality teacher education. Our college has always played an integral role in shaping the career and personality of numerous students and will continue doing the same in near future.

In a bid to supplement the efforts of National Council of Technical Education (NCTE) in expanding the infrastructure of Teacher Education in this region, it was contemplated in 2011 to establish a Teachers’ Training College. To give a practical outcome to this idea, Durgapur Anandamoy B. Ed College has been established on 1st November 2012 with the intention to impart quality teacher education to the trainees as well as to imbibe confidence into the young talents passing out from this college.

Our college has been located in a semi-urban area distant from the noisy streets of Krishnanagar City that helps our students concentrate in a more efficient way. Being located 3 km away from Krishnanagar City Railway station on NH 34, easy and cheap communication from adjacent areas is one of the significant parameters of our college. Digital Classrooms and free Wi-Fi enable our trainees to be connected to the contemporary world at all times. In addition to that, facilities like purified drinking water, well decorated garden and ventilated classroom aid in ensuring proper health of the trainees and ambience of the college. Our college canteen within the campus premises offer an assorted range of food items for trainees as well as the teachers. The parking space near the entrance gate offers facility for parking of vehicles. We also have a library having a voluminous collection of books of the present curriculum.
